Problem

The innovation adresses two problems related to photosynthesis. First, the synthesis of efficient RuBisCO enzyme and second, the conversion efficiency of absorbed solar radiation to biochemical energy molecules.

Solution

Photosynthetic stimulator has two (RuBisCO-ACT and Photon-MAX) composite formulations that improve the activity of enzyme RuBisCO and improve the conversion efficiency of solar radiation absorbed to biochemical currencies i.e. ATP & NADPH+.

Brief description

The innovation addresses the two problems related to photosynthesis, first, the synthesis of efficient RuBisCO enzyme and second, conversion efficiency of absorbed solar radiation to biochemical energy molecules. Based on our data and data from other researchers, RuBisCO constitutes 50% of leaf protein (all nutrient responsive crops have similar results). More nutrients are used for synthesis of RuBisCO enzyme, which is not necessary if enzyme carries out 2 reactions of the 12 reactions per second. In-efficiency of RuBisCO leads to more enzyme synthesis and more nutrient utilization per unit of sugar synthesized per unit time. Similarly, inefficiency in conversion of absorbed solar radiation conversion to biochemical energies further decreases sugar synthesized per unit area per unit time. We have recorded minimum 35% increase in total biomass production (without changing the harvest index) in paddy, sugarcane, pomegranate, banana, arecanut, coconut and onion crops at field level.
