Micro Gas turbines are the same technology that is used in the jet engine of an aeroplane, the difference is that in aircraft it is used for propelling it whereas, here it is used as a means to drive a generator for power generation. Compared to typical jet engines the MGTs are for lower power levels from 15kW-500kW. Their better power to weight ratio, smaller land footprint, lower emissions and noise levels, and fuel flexibility gives them an advantage against IC engines-based gen sets.
We are building the MGT gen-set currently, which can use all kinds of liquid and gaseous fuels such as natural gas, LPG, petrol diesel, kerosene, biogas, biodiesel, ethanol etc. We have patented burner that allows such fuel flexibility for the same unit, unlike other gas turbine companies. Out emissions levels are less than 1% compared to the conventional DG set technologies. They can be effective in curbing pollution in the cities, where pollution from existing DG sets has been one of the major contributors to pollution.
