We solve the problems of unskilled labour and plastic waste simultaneously.
We have created a proprietary process to produce upcycled and circular materials from single-use plastics. Our model works to empower BoP groups to collect, clean, segregate and process plastic waste into fabric and finally to fabricate products.
We work in the Livelihoods + Waste sectors. We have developed patented processes to create various materials from plastic waste which can be used to create packaging, fashion, interiors and in construction in a closed-loop process. We have proven our success in Fashion by creating a type of vegan leather from plastic waste- which we call Handmade Recycled Plastic(HRP). HRP can then be used to create high-end products like handbags, trench coats, footwear etc. These products can then be upcycled to create furniture and low-cost housing tiles. In this way, each iteration in upcycling produces a product with higher value increasing the longevity of single-use plastics to 15-20years. We create livelihoods by building capacity of grassroot recyclers in utilising this upcycling process and creating end-products that are sold in the market - in this way they are able to earn a dignified livelihood for themselves. We also work with low-income artisans to provide them with work and using their dying handicraft skills for embellishments and stitching of the products.
