  • Innovation is a working prototype.
  • Company/Organization if any is registered in India.
  • Innovation has a product/hardware components and is not just a service.

AGNIi as a platform for innovations is agnostic to whether innovations are owned by individuals or startups. The process for registering an organization is relatively simple. Start-Up India is a "One stop shop" for all the activities including promotion, incubation etc. for budding entrepreneurs.

The AGNIi registration process for an institution is relatively simple. Please sign up as an organization and provide relevant details on www.AGNIi.gov.in.

AGNIi only accepts innovations from companies/organizations registered in India. However foreign companies are welcome to register as buyers and explore the marketplace for potential acquisitions.

All you need to do is submit your application, if your application moves forward after the assessment then either the buyers will approach you directly via Innovation showcase or AGNIi team will put you in touch with relevant buyers in forthcoming relevant events.

AGNIi is a platform to promote innovators who may or may not be entrepreneurs while Start-Up India is a "One stop shop" for all the activities including promotion, incubation etc. for budding entrepreneurs.

AGNIi does not require any documents for a user to register. The simple registration form asks for basic user and contact information. Please register at www.AGNIi.gov.in.

The length of the application form is dependent on the stage of your innovation. We at AGNIi try to customize an innovator's journey and experience based on their innovation and needs.

Yes, all applications can be saved in drafts at any time and can be completed when convenient.

Our evaluation and feedback process is over two months. You will receive feedback as soon as the team and outside experts have finished reviewing your application.

Your application will be reviewed by multiple technology commercialization, subject matter and legal experts. The AGNIi team evaluates ideas on the following criteria-
  • Design – particularly the unit economics of producing the innovation at scale.
  • Financial and market readiness
  • Patent protection – is the innovation patentable? Have the right use cases been covered while filing the patent? Etc.
Overall, evaluators determine the commercialization potential of the innovation.

Yes, you can reapply and submit as many applications as you like. If you are submitting an application that was not shortlisted in the past, we would suggest refining the older one before resubmitting.

Yes, innovators need to register on the platform (www.AGNIi.gov.in) before submitting applications.

Yes, innovators can find both guidelines and sample applications on the innovator dashboard after logging in.

It is recommended that users save drafts periodically to ensure back up. In case no drafts were saved and a user closes the application window, he/she will have to begin filling the application from the beginning.

Videos submitted by innovators make it easier for us to understand and evaluate your innovations. They also serve as great primers to your innovation once it is uploaded on the innovation showcase.

YouTube video is a great opportunity to connect with the visitors/buyers. You can give a demonstration of your product and explain why it is better than the existing solution in less than 2 minutes.

The application form is designed to give us a comprehensive picture of your innovations and their potential for commercialization. We at AGNIi try to customize each users journey to ask the minimum number of questions to get the job done.

While innovators are free to provide details as they see fit, AGNIi is committed to the protection of the valuable intellectual property of innovators. As part of the program, your IP will be protected and IP experts will be consulted where necessary.

The scheme is open to both patented and non-patented technologies. Being an initiative of the Government of India, the technology rights stay protected under AGNIi. Please provide us the Patent Application Number and filing date if a patent has been filed for.

Yes. We have worked hard to make the application form as short and concise as possible. All information requested is necessary.

The pitch deck is a good way for us to understand your innovation and business model as best described by you using not only text but diagrams, visuals etc.

The video helps our innovators get a good understanding of your prototype and its functioning. Since the team is not able to meet with each innovator personally, a short video of the innovation helps us bridge the gap between our commercialization experts and you.

AGNIi as a program does not help with Patent Filing and other patent related facilitation. We would recommend reaching out to the Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) for assistance with Patent Filing and related concerns (http://cipam.gov.in/).

To be admitted into AGNIi, the applicant must have a working prototype of the innovation. We recommend that you register at AGNIi and complete the first stage of the application so that we have details of your innovation in our database and can assist you with the further development of your idea.

The information collected by AGNII is not sold or distributed to any company without the consent of the innovator. All information is strictly confident, and privacy is guaranteed. Your name will never be sold, exchanged, or distributed to any other party without your express acknowledgement.

Patent rights are territorial in nature. A patent granted in India will protect that innovation only in the territory of India. Similarly, a patent granted in other country will protect the innovation only in that country.

Express Interest is a method for stakeholders and buyers in particular to follow the progress of an innovation and get in touch with the innovators.

AGNIi aims to provide opporunities for stakeholders to network and connect with other ecosystem players and access to infrastructure for developing products. While AGNIi is actively involved in helping innovators commercialize their innovations, AGNIi does not get involved in helping facilitate financial transactions.

Innovations showcased on the “National Innovation Showcase” have not been approved or certified by AGNIi or Invest India.

Innovations displayed on the innovation showcase belong to the innovators who have uploaded the information, and the information may be subject to patent, copyright, design, trademark or other privileged information. Before using any such information, the person using the information is required to take specific permission from the innovator.

The innovator will be contacted with details of the interested party - name, email and contact no. The AGNIi team will also get in touch with both the innovator and interested user to explore possible opporunities.
